LCHSU Rent Policy
The rent is set according to SACHA's funding agreement, which is based on the value of the property or approximately 25% of tenant income, which ever is less, and is also subject to any Government policy changes in the future.
Rent must always be paid two weeks in advance
Soon after your tenancy has been approved you will be provided with the details you need to pay your rent, either at the bank, online, via BPAY or through Centrepay.
You must inform the LCHSU Office should you or any member of your household have an income change by more than $10.00 per week in any given six-month period.
You should also advise us as soon as a new child enters your family. Both of these items could reduce your rental and since we cannot backdate any reductions it is necessary for you to give us this information, with documentation as soon as possible, or even in advance, if feasible.
Regular rent reviews will be conducted twice per year in April and October
The LCHSU office will require proof of income at the time of each review or any other time that such information may be requested. Should you require information on how the rent is assessed, please contact the LCHSU Office for further details.
Please note that the LCHSU has a contractual obligation with SACHA therefore, failure to respond to tenant rent reviews is a serious breach of your tenancy agreement with LCHSU.
